endless rooms
Was working in Hangars, when I got the notification from Ava, I made sure the chassis was in a safehouse before jumping. After the download back on Utopia, I let Ava in , she asked about learning hacking. The girl doesn't realize the last time I hacked like a normal human, they still used Datadecks, Everything now is done with neural nets, or strait program to program. Trying to explain that to her, what all she would need, not just a neural net implant, but firewalls, icebreakers, dataencryptors, and she shows me what she's been doing with the prototype I gave her. Basically took it and wa splanning on implanting it, into herself, for hacking. Like she has no fuckin clue what it was meant for!!! hacking!? I point out I intended it to be implanted on a blank, and got told, why waste a clone on testing? needless to say i was pissed, and left to dice into the extranet. Once I got back from that porn node, after blowing off some steam, I noticed an unregistered signature in my personal node of the station's local network. She had thought she'd follow me, and just got trapped in the simulations I was using to test dopplegangers in! I finally found her in the tesseract sim of all places, the sim has an infinite number of rooms. she'd been trying to question a doppleganger,...I realize she's....got some mental issues, but to question a doppleganger? they're not the brightest for fuck's sake! I finally showed up and got her out of there, and let her know why I was pissed, my purposes for the prototype require a blank, I need something I can get past tech sniffers afterall. I don' know if I got through on anything though, but at least she understood if she want's to hack, she's going about it all wrong.

Mission to Rescue
They had boarded the ship the next day, part of the 9th fleet, on it's way to Mars. 209 loaded onto a Miach combatengineering drone, She was going mostly for technical support, someone had to hack the doors, and the kreigs or whoever they were utilized a closed system. The shell was clunky but well armored, she brough a handgun as well.
The trip there, Phee had them running simulations, of a few different scenarios, as it was uncertian exactly what they were going into. Soon they arrived in Mars orbit., the three of them, Pheonix, Naomi and 209 boarded a landing craft as it went down to the surface.
As soon as they departed, they were rushed by a group of mercs. Phee and Naomi mowed them down, Sue even managed to hit some, targetting aids built into the drone seemed to count for something afterall. Once the mercs were put down, Phee signalled for them to move. they ran across the sands towards the structure in the distance. reaching it, the two combat models covered as 209 plugged the drone into the panel for the door, and jacked in.
The kreigs, mercs, or whoever's system was fairly unimaginative, Sue found herself floating through identicle grey corridors. She located the control node for the front door after a few seconds, and holding her hand over the glowing square, released glowing blue tendrils into it, manipulating it and folding the data into a new shape, a star.
In realspace, the door opened to the electronic voice announcing that acess was granted.
the drone disconnected and Sue stood up "it's open!" the trio ran in..
Inside it was fairly quiet, they shot the security cameras, but no guards came running out, then Phee heard the gunshot and reacted first. They followed her to the elevators, taking them up. Another couple times of hacking doors, and they entered what looked like a meeting room. There was a man, Sue kept her gun on him until Phee arrived and claimed he was Utopia. The man said he was a friend of Erich's, and heard the distress signals, so came to help, the mercs let him in beleiving he was their pilot. He offered to bring them to Erich. They followed him, eventually running into Erich, who promptly shot the man. As it wasn't the time or place for Erich to explain, they headed back out. stopping to retreive Erich's enviro suit. As they left the stronghold, they began being shot at. They ran. Getting closer to the pickup point, there was a sudden mortar explosion, tossing Phee and Erich and shaking the ground as mercs came out in force. They managed to get everyone on the pod and take off admidst the shots. As they strapped in, they headed to meet with the fleet, Phee taking controls of the pod, and doging the enemy craft that were showing up in swarms.. They soon rendevouz with the ship, and boarded, the fleet having kept any enemy ships at bay while they were on the surface. as the fleet returned to Utopia.

[21:34] Sue 209 (nurse209) comes in and flops on the couch, giving a nod to Tae "so how's the geometry?"
[21:37] Tae loks up when disturbed from her studies, about ready to snap at whomever it was, but that white metalliccasing would cause her temper to subside as she looks across the room at her friend. 'Not bad, I'm getting into some more advanced concepts actually. I should be up to a fairly competent point within the next few hours or so. It's just a matter of practice really." she'd smile gently and justsmile gently, patting the cushion next to her.
[21:39] Sue 209 (nurse209) nods and gets up, sitting on the couch next to her "so...why are you picking now to do geometry?".
[21:42] Tae just shrugs a little bit and thinks for a moment before answering. 'it's logical, i've decided that I should elarn it after i became competent at algebra. And that was finished about two days ago. You realize that i'm having to re learn everything right? I suffered a great deal of brain damage, and was only re-educated with basic literacy really. I wish that hadn't been the case but sadly it was."
[21:43] Sue 209 (nurse209): oh, no, I didn't realize, sorry, was it the same thing that made you need the mask?
[21:45] Tae just gives a sigh and sits up, looking sad for a moment. 'yes, yes it was. I'm not sure how much you know about Chlorine gas, but simply put, if you don't have lungs you can't breathe, and if you can't breathe then your body is starved for oxygen, and braincells start to die off quite rapidly. I used to be a genetiecist, now i'd need extensive training or implantation to do that same job."

"I'l fine, don't worry, please, I'm just a little torn up, but I think I've told you about my lungs, or rather, half of a lung." She'd sigh a little bit, her face, just contorting into a frown. "So, do you have anything you'd like to ask of me?"

It isn't just the lung that is damaged, but my diaphragm as well, in short the mask breathes for me. the high pressure allows the half lung i have remaining to fill with air, as well as allowing my chest to expand properly. On the exhale, my mask releases pressure allowing my chest to contract and lung to deflate to expel carbon dioxide. On top of that it amplifies the amount of oxygen i breathed by roughly four times. so it concentrates the oxygen to alost a pure blend, and allows me to breathe without being hooked up to a machine.'

'no, the vissor has a wireless network as i'm sure you're aware. the mask is tied to the visor to give me alerts, but adjustments are of course manual as you've seen." she'd just sigh a little and let out a heavy breath. "anything else you'd like to know Sue? I'm just happy talking with you."

My remaining part of a lung and heart are held to gether with medical implants. frankly Sue, it's only a matter of time before my heart decides to tear itself apart, especially if i exer exceed 115 beeats per minute. So frankly, i have a rather evsted interest inchnaging bodies, be it cybernetic or organic.'

209 was in the observation deck after transferring back from the ICE shell she kept in Hangars Liquides, having had a conversation with Tae, and Phee, about A.I. and Tae's possible neural mapping.
[20:04] Phoenix (dawn12.parx) looks over. "The AI classes have nothing to do with intelligence. There are class 2s that could beat me at chess. If you are a sentient human, you are functionally equivalent to a class 5 AI."
[20:06] Tae shakes her ehad andchuckles. "i wasn't rferring to intelligence actually, merely freedom of will. I find myself seeking to do what I was told to do. i was judging it on behavioral comparion. quite frankly phoenix, you think mor efreely than I do."

In essence using me as a testbed for theories that lead to, creative thoought, or perhaps proof of A.i superiority over the average human?" she'd phras eit curiously, while the owrds may have been hostile from anyone else, the certainly weren't from Tae, simply curious

The idea is that any sentient mind, be it neurons or transistors, naturally includes a certain number of those neurons or transistors that are quantum entangled. The theory holds that it should be possible to transfer, but not copy, these quantum relationships. This would be a consequence of the Heisenberg uncertaintly principle. If transferred, the fundamental essence of a mind could be moved from one form to another. We have had one successful test - Chun decided to become reborn as the AI mind 'Hope.'"

The station was quiet, in an artificial night cycle for the organic citizens when the stasis pod opened, and the pale gynoid stepped out, 209 went to get her clothes and pull them on. She'd lost track of time when she was riding the drone, what she thought was days, had actually been months. No sign of what she'd been looking for, she finally gave up and retreated to the ICE chassis.
As she stepped out of her room, she walked through the dark halls to the observation deck. "you have to start using your internal clock, four months! surprised noone went to recycle the gynoid.
She stopped short when she realized there was a woman on the sofa

As she stepped out of her room, she walked through the dark halls to the observation deck. "you have to start using your internal clock, four months! surprised noone went to recycle the gynoid.

drones
The arrival at Space Station Utopia was interesting, they had travelled for a few days in relative luxury on the airship, before arriving at a spaceport, and loading into a fairly cramped ship. The station itself was in near earth orbit, and as they approached, 209 thought she was looking at some sort of sea creature at first, the design aesthetic prevailiant on the airship, the mio-mechanicle, apparant on the outer hull of the station.
Once everyone had docked, Sue laid claim to a room, the station was still being renovated, so not many noticed as she took some peices of computer equipment and wired up her own rig. She didn't need a rig anymore really, hadn't since her transition. But she had a level of nostalgia, plus now that she had a physical body, she didn't always want to have to dive.
She finished up her algorythm on the rig as she got up and went to the cryostasis pod she had against the wall, entering it, she let the cords and wires attach to points along her spine, and her vision spread as she saw from the eyes of the pack of drones released from the cargohold of the docked ship, and set to work. 4 drones were set to erecting the satellites to form and connect the station's network to the worldwide grid. one she sent to the moon, most of her attention was on number 5.

Post-Insilico
The decision to leave the Shades, came at the end of someone attacking with 'irritant bombs'. not known to cause destruction, the munitions had been designed to disorient and annoy. Phee had set out over the Shade.net the message "This is the last straw, I'm leaving this city, anyone who wants to come with, follow"
A full 90% of those in the shades, either followed Phee, or left for their own path. 209 stayed behind to clean up loose ends, including wiping anything useful from the Shade.Net and readying the code in case another was needed. She left the gynoid she had been inhabiting, having the assorted junkbots she viewed the city through pack Ice up and prepare the android shell for shipping. As the irritant bombs ceased, 209 whatched from the Symbol Monkey as IPS tried to save face by 'seiging' the Shades, seiging a largely empty area populated by the occasional broken robot, and homeless bum too stubborn to leave. As IPS stood there for hours shouting into it through their PA, tossed krak-bang grenades to try flushing someone out, and as the media arrived, even paid actors to come stumbling out to be 'arrested'. 209 eventually grew bored and left Symbol monkey, who waddled off to wherever his limited AI took him.
By now, it was time to leave, the package had been shipped, Phee contacting the infomorph with a location, and a temporary secure uplink with a 5 minute window, it took 209 5 seconds.
She passed from the city network, through the world grid, latching to a lone pathway spiraling out of the larger framework. Zipping down the line, she saw the light at the end, and sped through, just as it closed shut, terminating the datastream.
Opening the artificial eyes of Ice, 209 sat up and looked around her, seeing the bright room around her, she stretched as she felt the vibrations of an engine, they must be on a ship or craft of some sort. She got up and walked out the door, into a nicely decorated living room, there were a couple comfortable seats, art and old fashioned books on the walls, and a fireplace, that had to be a hologram.
Sayer was sitting comfortably in one of the chairs and waved cheerfully, "Welcome aboard! you should take a look on the top deck! the view's amazing!" 209 smiled ad took the stairs up, coming to the deck, she saw open sky, and some sort of solar sail, and Zeibzen and Phee leaning on the edge.
